F&S employs many hard-working, dedicated and often extraordinary people who demonstrate exemplary service. Some employees distinguish themselves by consistently going above and beyond while making an improvement in a process, enhancing their output so that both their team and the campus benefit, or even by performing a Good Samaritan or humanitarian act while on the job.

Pats on the Back
Pats on the Back are a great way for employees to recognize their co-workers for a job well done. All F&S employee are eligible to submit a Pat on the Back (POB).
Send your POB to fscustomerrelations@illinois.edu. POBs are published weekly in the E-Update.
Employee of the Month & Team of the Month

The F&S “Employee of the Month” and “Team of the Month” awards
are given monthly to any employee (e.g., full-time, part-time, student, extra-help, academic hourly, etc.) or team, who has demonstrated one or more of the guiding principles that are essential to our organization, our university, and our community. Additionally, an “Employee of the Year” is selected from the monthly winners. (There is no Team of the Year award.)
The EOM awards will be given in two categories, Individuals and Group/Teams. An Employee of the Year is selected annually from among the two categories of monthly winners. Nominations must be submitted by no later than the 21st of each month. The EOM committee meets the fourth Thursday, and winners are announced the first week of the following month.

Merit Mug
The Merit Mug is presented to a team member by his/her supervisor.
It recognizes efforts and performance, beyond perfect attendance or basic job duties, that illustrate the F&S Values of trust, respect, accountability, integrity, teamwork, and safety. Some examples include: uncommon or exceptional customer service, returning lost property, immediately identifying and correcting a problem that is a safety hazard, or finding a new way to reduce costs.
Chancellor’s Staff Excellence Awards (CSEA)
The Chancellor’s Staff Excellence Award (CSEA) is designed to recognize the importance of the outstanding work of all university staff members who perform a wide range of critical functions for our university. Staff provide critical administrative support, support our research laboratories and education programs, serve our students, and offer important outreach programs throughout the state and beyond.
Each winner of the CSEA award will be honored at a reception hosted by the Chancellor, receive a $1,500 (after taxes) and a commemorative award. They will also be featured virtually in either a podcast or video and spotlighted by the News Bureau.
F&S team members are often winners of this prestigious award.
